Charles County Commissioner (District 4)


  • Elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2014 and 2018 as Commissioner District 4.


  • Serves as Vice-President of the Board of Charles County Commissioners.

  • He has served on various committees such as the Commissioner Representative to the Fire/EMS Board, and the Charles County Drug and Alcohol Council. 


  • Owner and operator of several successful small businesses in Charles County for over 2 decades and currently owns Rucci's in White Plains Md.

  • Licensed REALTOR® since 2005.

  • Named Jude House Person of the Year for his work fighting opioid and drug addiction, including hiring those in rehabilitation programs to open opportunities for future employment.

  • 2019 named Charles County Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year for  2018.

  • Winner of the Charles County Democratic Central Committee Business Award for  2018. 

  • In this role, Commissioner Vice President Rucci spearheaded a symposium to allow the public to share experiences and recommend solutions to address the increase in illegal drug sales. He is dedicated to continuing to work towards solutions to drug addiction and mental health issues in our County.


  • A member of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce, the Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS®, Waldorf Moose, and the Charles County Crime Solvers.

Commissioner Rucci supports dozens of non-profits in Charles County through volunteering his time, goods, or monetary donations, including the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Torch Run, the Jude House, Lions Camp Merrick, Hospice of Charles County, the College of Southern Maryland, the Waldorf Jaycees Senior Programs, Angels’ Watch Women’s Shelter, Our Place Soup Kitchen, Waldorf Lions Club, La Plata Rotary, the Southern Maryland Women’s League, the Southern Maryland Food Bank, Walk MS, March for Babies, University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center Foundation, the Carmelite Nuns and the Charles County Humane Society. 

Bobby is the son of Italian Immigrants Savino & Nicoletta Rucci.  He lives in Waldorf Maryland with his wife Diana.  He has three sons Dominic, John, and Joseph. He purchased his first home in Waldorf in 1983.  In 1990 he built Legend’s and then went on to create Three Bambino’s Italian Deli, Don Savino’s Piano Bar & Grill, Martini’s Lounge & Restaurant, and currently Rucci’s.  When not working you can find him enjoying the waterways of the Potomac.  He is also an avid outdoorsman and loves to hunt and fish.
